Carried. CORRESPONDENCE AND REPORTS FOR INFORMATION: From the Fire Chief being the June 1976 report of the Fire Department. June/76-report of Fire Dept. Alderman Traboulay questioned the 4 incidents reported of ‘stumps or bush' fires and whether or not they were in connection with land clearing by developers and the Fire Chief advised that the incidents occurred as a result of children playing with matches in the bush. The report was then received for information. From the Senior Building Inspector being the Report of Building June/76-report of Bldg.Permits Permits issued for June, 1976. The significant increase in the number Issued of Single Family Dwellings being constructed was noted by the Council and the report was then received for information. From the Senior By-law Officer, June 30th, 1976 being the Inspection June/76-Insp. ; Report Department Report for June 1976. Alderman Traboulay noted the report of damage to City signs and requested more specific information as to the number of incidents be provided and the City Engineer agreed to present a report at the next meeting. June/76-SPCA From the British Columbia Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to report Animals, July 2, 1976 being the June 1976 report on Pound Operations. Alderman Traboulay advised that weekend and 'off-hour' patrols are presently being carried out in an attempt to maintain control over animals at large. CORRESPONDENCE & PETITIONS: GVRD, June 11/76: re Livable Reg. ; population tar- get for 1986 From the Greater Vancouver Regional District, June llth, 1976 with respect to the "Livable Region 1976/1$86 Proposals to Manage the Growth of Greater Vancouver" and requesting Council's endorsation of the proposed 1986 population target for the City of Port Coquitlam of 37,000. Moved by Alderman Laking: Seconded by Alderman Traboulay: That the 1986 population target for the City of Port Coquitlam of 37,000 as outlined in the June llth, 1976 letter from the Greater Vancouver Regional District and contained in their "The Livable Region 1976/1986 Proposals to Manage the Growth of Greater Vancouver" report, be endorsed.
