City Engineers, 2580 Shaughnessy Street, Part Caquitlam, B.C. Dear Sir or Madame: = ; Re; Sidewalks on Prairie Avenue fram Cedar Drive te Rae Street. We have lived in Peart Coquitlam tar ane year naw and, although we like it very much, we are terribly concerned about the lack mf Sidewalks in our area. This September aur son started kindergarten at Cedar Drive Elementary. We are sick with worry about his walking to and from schol along Prairie Avenue between Rae Street and Cedar Drive. There is nn complete sidewalk on either side of Prairie and on the south side there is a dangeranus water tilled ditch. [In the marning, there are mathers with strollers, children «an bikes, pedestrians, all heading toward Cedar Drive with nowhere but the street ta walk. Many cars and large trucks use Prairie Avenue as a main highway. The first marning I walked my san ta scheaol there were three vehicles that sped past us greatly exceeding the legal speed limit. The parents in this area are very concerned abaut what’s happening on Prairie Avenue. It was braught ta my attentian a petition addressing this prablem Was already sent tn City Hall. We hape you will consider Sidewalks an bath sides ef this busy section of Prairie Avenue befare someone is Sericusly injured ar killed! I canvassed my immediate neighberhoasd far suppart and there is a very strong concern for a quick solution. I anxicusly lsok forward te your reply.
