July 24, 1989/156 A regular meeting of the Municipal Council of the Corporation of The City of Port Coquitlam was held in the Council Chambers, Port Coquitlan City Hall, 2580 Shaughnessy Street, Port Coquitlam, B.C. on Monday, July 24, 1989, at 7:30 p.m. His Worship Mayor L.M. Traboulay, Aldermen M.C. Farnworth, M.D. Gates, J.J. Keryluk, and M.R. Wright in attendance. Also in attendance were City Clerk/Deputy Administrator R.A. Freeman, Deputy City Engineer D.R, Reicken, Acting Parks and Recreation Director L.J. Wheeler and Director of Community Planning W.A. Brown. SPECIAL PRESENTATION: Joy Langan, M.P., presented Exemplary Service Medals to the following members of the City of Port Coquitlam Fire Fighters: L. Goddard, Captain WeA. McFarlane, Chief Training Officer DW. Hart, Captain R.A.J. Porter, Captain J.A. Nick, Captain W.J. Thomas, Captain Langan advised the Council that Exemplary Service Medals would be presented at a later date to the following members of the City of Port Coquitlam Fire Fighters: J.N. Boileau, Fire Chief W.R. Dunbar, Deputy Fire Chief F.J. Nick, Captain G.W. Hammond, Captain S.A. Smyth, Retired Captain D.M. Madden, Chief Fire Prevention Officer CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES: Moved by Alderman Keryluk: Seconded by Alderman Farnworth: That the minutes of the Regular Council meeting held on July 10th, 1989 be taken as read and adopted. Carried, DELEGATIONS: Mr. Roger Meloche and Harold Peters of the Port Coquitlam Figure Skating Club presented a cheque in the amount $15,500.00 to the City of Port Coquitlam to help defray the cost being incurred by the City in acquiring a new Zamboni Ice Surfacer.
