Improved Building Codes In Area of Home Security.

Over local R.C.M.P. and most other police departments are
spending a lot of time and effort in doing their best to
educate citizens in the various ways to improve home security.

The City of Vancouver (see attached) are preparing a number of
amendment proposals to their -building code, on several
improvements that will be a heip toa new homeowners in making
their. property more secure. ra

The costs at the time of construction are very minimal, but the
benefits are of great assistance to the new homeowner.

As you can see by the attached article the 1979 freeze by the
Provincial Government was rescinded on any proposed changes.

[I would move that we instruct staff to proceed with the
necessary amendments as outlined in attached article and if any
other items come to mind to. include them, for the better safety

of our citizens.
