DELEGATIONS: From the City Clerk, October 6th, 1975, submitting as an extra item for the Agenda, a report from the Planning & Zoning Committee, September 17th, 1975, dealing with the rezoning of two duplex lots on Pitt River Road to RM~3 (Intermediate~—Density Apartment. Residential) to permit the conversions of two duplexes to two four-plexes. Mr. Heathcote, the applicant, was in attendance at the meeting and spoke in support of his request, pointing out that the fourplexes would provide eight 3-bedroom rental units and, as the parcel is 28,000 square feet in size, a proper play area for children is also proposed. Mr. Heathcote further mentioned that rental units in the Lower Mainland area are almost non-existent because of poor monetary returns to the developer. Alderman Thompson stated that although he did net see anything wrong with «ne project as a form of housing, he w-s concerned that the site would have to be "spot zoned", Moved by Alderman Laking: Seconded by Alderman Ranger: That the report of the Planning & Zoning Committee, September 17th, 1975, recommending rejection of Applications R#8/75 and R#9/75 to rezone Lot 107, D.L. 255, Plan 43925 and Lot 103, D.L. 255, Plan 43925, respectively, from RS-1 (One-Family Residential) to RM-3 (Intermediate-Density Apartment Residential) to permit the conversion of two duplexes to two fourplexes, be adopted. Carried. Mayor Campbell and Alderman Keryluk vated against the resolution.
