The school ad- ministrators are not about to break with long-standing tradi- tions. What worked for the founding fathers’ will work for them. Individual thinking is not encouraged. But John Keating believes dusty traditions should be relegated to the back shelf of the closet. His teaching methods reflect his unorthodox views. Girls are supposed to be made of sugar and spice, not pickling vinegar and epsom salts. Dear old dad has finally been paroled. He swears to Lenore (Dianne Wiest), his mistress and Cookie’s mother, that he’s going straight. But first he has some unfinished business to clear up with Carmine Tarran- tino. Tarrantino owes Dino a lot of money which he’d rather not pay back. He’d like nothing better than to see Dino back in prison. The FBI would be happy to comply. A couple of agents are following Dino around, just waiting for him to goof up his parole. Cookie comes up with an in- genious scheme to recover Dino’s money... and get the FBI off his back. It’s so simple it might even work! This is a good movie. Cookie has more brass than the navy!
