April 2, 1987. Your Worship and Aldermen: Last month we invited you as individuals to join with the tens of thousands who annually walk for peace, and‘we thank all those who have responded. a, May we now ask for your Council's formal endorsation of the 1987 Walk for Peace to be held Saturday, April 25. It is with great pride that we note that Vancouver is known as the Peace Capital of North America, but we also realize that without the cooperation of thousands of your citizens in joining in, that such a massive response might not be possible. As you may know, this year's Walk is co-sponsored by Vancouver City Council, Vancouver School Board, and Vancouver Parks Board. We enclose for your information a copy of a letter sent to all the students of Vancouver from Mayor Gordon Campbeli. It would indeed be appreciated if such a message could’ be conveyed to: your school children from your Mayor and aldermen. Thanking you for your cooperation, Sincerely, “J / ° 7. -¢ anecl ff = Frank Kennedy; President. A coalition of 230 ornanizations dedicated to abolishing nuclear weapons and funding human needs, 5 6
