Dear Sirs: Re: Your recent notice of proposed revision of your sign by-law As a developer and commercjal property owner, we are completely opposed to any relaxation of the existing sign by-law. The condition will arise if the by-law is relaxed in that an escalation of signage will occur in that each commercial user will attempt to out-do his neighbour. The net result is a condition whereby al] commercial establishments are cheapened, costs are increased to tenant, and these are ultimately passed along to the customer. We would recommend that only flush, facia type signs of a non flashing variety be permitted in the commercial areas and that all billboard type signs be restricted in that they not be allowed above the roof line of any building.
