Re: Appointment of Deputy Fire Chief

Council made provision in the 1977 Budget for the appoint-
ment of a Deputy Fire Chief. We have called for applications
and have been through the process of interviewing and examining
five prospective candidates for this position. Three of these
candidates were present members of our Fire Department and two
‘were applicants from outside the area.

I would recommend to Council the appointment of Mr. Jim
Boileau, presently a Captain with the Fire Department. Jim ;
started as a volunteer fireman over 25 years ago and he was one
of the first firemen hired when the City started the full time

paid Department.

. I would recommend to Council the appointment of Mr. Jim
Boileau as Deputy Fire Chief commencing November lst,-1977.
