_' —_ = ne oo THE WESTERN CANADIAN LUMBER WORKER AUGUST, 1973 Local 1-417 IWA held “open ted in North The building which is completely paid for, is a two- structure with approxi- mately 1,550 square feet of on both floors plus an additional 1,300 more in the basement meeting hall. This provides ample room for offices for the officers and staff on the main floor and leaves the top floor free for renting out. Each office has its own in- dividual carpet and type of wall panel. All the rooms are well lighted and the building is completely air conditioned. The building has aroused interest among the other labour organizations in Kamloops and a number of them have been seeking office space. At the moment the Carpenters’ Union and the NDP-MLA Gerry Anderson have rented offices. The basement hall is also proving popular as a meeting place and a number of labour unions are renting it for their meetings. The Committee members appointed by the Local to look after the building arrangements are Kevin Kelly, - Larry Jensen, and Bert Sedor, who are to be congratulated for a job well done.
