IMMIGRATION Practical Workshops and Field Meetings The CCFI is continuing to organize monthly field meetings again this year. Workers and stakeholders throughout the service sector for Francophone immigrants are attending workshop conferences. The last three meetings dealt with mental health, the recognition of diplomas, and taxation. Call For Tenders: Immigrant Adaptation and Settlement Services Over the last few months, the FFCB has stepped up its efforts to ensure operation of the CCFI over the coming years. The immigration team (CCFI and FFCB) developed a new service delivery model for Francophone immigrants that it presented under a call for tenders by the province. The model was presented to the Implementation Committee on February 16, 2011 and adopted a few weeks later by the CCFI consortium. Based on that model, CCFI negotiated Francophone collaboration with its partners. If the new service delivery model is accepted by the Province, activities will begin in October 2011. In the meantime, the Province has chosen to extend the CCFI’s mandate until December 2011. TWO NEW IMMIGRATION COORDINATORS incophone Over the course of the year, two new coordinators joined the immigration team: Ms. Cécile Barbier (left) is the new CCFI coordinator, and Ms. Ariane Kitengie (right) is temporarily replacing Ms. Pascaline Nsekera as immigration coordinator at the FFCB. QUE! PARTICIPATION IN COMMUNITY EVENTS The CCFI ensures its presence at community events. Mr. Jean Bruno Nkondi attends a job fair in Surrey on March 17, 2011.
