2 The Minister Replies a te ar ee aat en te ee ee enn ae Dear rs. Gibson: It was indeed a pleasure to meet you and your represen- tatives of the Canadian Parents for French. I trust our discussion has identified mutual concerns as well as our Ministry's interest in continuing to assist in the development and implementation of French Immersion programs in British Columbia. The brief submitted by the Canadian Parents for French includes many elements, some under local school district jurisdiction and others under out Ministry's responsibility. We will give each of your recommendations careful con- sideration. It is quite true that there is a "growing interest in the French language in British Columbia" and as indicated in your brief, this will.ensure a wider understanding of Canada as a partnership of two language communities. Thank you and congratulations on the initiative, time and effort you have devoted to the formulation. and Presentation ; oF a raly excellent brief. ete . ces Sk ee eee .
