And That the estimated cost of $5,800.00 be taken from the Parking Reserve Fund. BACKGROUND AND COMMENTS: As Council is aware the property at 2664/70 Shaughnessy Street (Old Health Food Store) was purchased in January to create additional parking in the downtown area. Now that the. store and rear building are no longer occupied the condition of the building necessitates demolition as soon. as possible. The estimated cost of demolition of the building includes the disconnection of services. Plans are currently underway to consolidate the existing lots and close the lane between the properties, after which, the Engineering department will. proceed with the paving of the additional parking area.
