Further to our recent discussion please find attached

a copy of a quotation dated December 24th, 1976 from Stranco ,
Canada Systems Inc. for the ‘supply and installation of a Strantrol.

You will recall that in April. 1974 because of consid-

erable difficulties in maintaining proper chlorine levels in the
Robert Hope and Centennizl Pools, authorization was received to
install Strantrol Pool Control Units at each pool. These installed ae
units have proven to he most satisfactory. Osby

At the time the Hyde Creek Centre Complex was being
designed .by Carlberg-Jackson Partners, the Strantrol units were
not available. Tt is my understanding that since they have been

Strantrol unit is installed at the pool it is unlikely that any. ot
discerable overall savings in labour will result but we would =. °
expect sone savings in chemicals. The main advantage, however,

would be a chemically hetter operated pool.

Please accept this memorandum as a request for authority
to purchase the demonstrator unit as quoted. Because of the long
shutdown of the pool it would appear that we will be $60,009 to
$70,000 under budget for 1976. Accordingly I would suqgest that.
