Terrace-born shooter is

A WOMAN who was born
and raised in Terrace has
been named photographer
of the year by the Profes-
sional Photographers asso-
ciation of British Colum-
bia.

Annette: Pierce, a com-
mercial photographer who
lives in Courtenay B.C.,
earned the title March 9 at
a PPABC convention in
Richmond, winning out
over more than 170 profes-
sional photographers from

Pierce also took home
trophies for best portrait of
a child, best portrait of a
woman, best group portrait

A panel of judges fea-
turing master photogra-
phers select the top phatos
from among some of the
most recognized shooters
in B.C, Her entries drew
praise for their originality
and depth of emotion.

Pierce, who is married
and runs her own photogra-
phy studio, began her pro-
fessional career just one
year ago, She specializes
in portraits and wedding

photos, commercial cor-

porate and stock photogra-
phy. She says she finds her
inspiration from God.

Her parents are Ter-

race’s John Clift (of Ev's.
Men's Wear) and Shirley

Panechyshyn.
This isn’t the first time
there's been a Terrace
connection to ~— the
PPABCs. Three years ago,

two photographs by Ter- ~~

race's Wendy Shymanski
were selected for the Na-
tional Print Salon, a con-
test judged by the top pros
in the business.
