iT rete Mabe . * Garrett Hidber and Lisa Mailloux were top winners at zone high school badminton championships held in Terrace on - March 18. They’re leading the Cal high team to’ Langley for B.C. finals starting April 6. Cal tops zone in badminton Terrace Caledonia hosted the zone high school badminton finals on March 18 weekend, and managed to win 10 of the 15 titles up for grabs in the senior under-19 division, The tournament had a notice- able absence of senior talent from Smithers, Hazelton, Kitimat and Prince Rupert. The big winners were Garrett Hidber and Lisa Mailloux, both of Caledonia. Hidber, a provincial all-star in volleyball as well, won the men’s ‘A’ singles, teamed with Dayson Wrubel to capture the men’s ‘A’ doubles, and also paired with Mailloux to take the mixed ‘A’ doubles. Lisa counted a ladies ‘A’ doubles win with partner Jodie Cey, plus the ‘A’ singles and the mixed with Hidber. ‘Winners of ali flights are listed below.
