September 26, 1988/227 From the City of Vancouver, July 25th, 1988 regarding Nuclear Weapons Legal Action asking Council to endorse (1) the research effort to establish a legal case against nuclear weapons; and (2) soliciting the federal government's cooperation in having the issue teferred to the courts to be adjudicated. As well as a contribution of $25.00 to enable the organizers to keep Council informed of their progress. Moved by Alderman Gates: Seconded by Alderman Keryluk: That Council support the research effort to establish a legal case against nuclear weapons. Carried. Aldermen Laking, Stewart and Talbot voted against the resolution. Moved by Alderman Keryluk: Seconded by Alderman Stewart: That the Traffic Regulations Bylaw be amended to include the placement of a stop sign at the following location: a) the northeast corner of Poel Place and Yarmouth Street.
