Public Hearing - Liquified Natural Gas Storage Plant.

RECOMMENDATION :

That a member of Council be appointed to act as the official representative
for Port Coquitlam at the Public Information Hearing being held on April
lst, 1982 on B.C. Hydro's proposal for a liquified natural gas storage
plant.

BACKGROUND AND COMMENTS :

A press release from the Greater Vancouver Regional District is attached.
Despite the March lith, 1982 date on this release it was only received in
our office on Friday, March 26th, 1982.

In a telephone call received from Bud Elsie of the G.V.R.D. Information
Services I was asked to convey a request to Council that an official
representative be appointed who would be given a preferred spot on the
speakers list at this Hearing.

All members of Council are, of course, invited to attend and will be
permitted to make whatever comments they think desirable but the person
appointed by the Council will, apparently, be treated as Port Coquitlam's
"Official" representative.
