Alderman Mabbett referred to recent reports in the press concerning an accident in the CPR yards and he stated his dissatisfaction of being advised of these matters through the press rather than directly from the officials responsible. Alderman Mabbett referred to statements made earlier in the meeting concerning the need for direct access from Victoria Drive to the City's Nature Area, Moved by Alderman Mabbett: Seconded by Alderman Muldoon: That the Planning & Zoning Committee, in cooperation with the Burke Mountain Trail Riders Association, investigate the use of the 33’ road allowance immediately to the East of the property covered by zoning amend-— ment By~law No. 1818, as direct access to the City's Nature Area from Victoria Drive. Carried. Prior to passage of the resolution stated above Alderman Traboulay mentioned the apparent conflict between the intent of the resolution and the prohibition on the riding of horses on the "Poco Trail" and Mayor Laking advised that this aspect of the matter would also be investigated. Alderman Mabbett referred to the bus stop benches throughout the City and advised that their state of repair was becoming a matter of concern to him. Moved by Alderman Mabbett: Seconded by Alderman Muldoon: That an appropriate letter of complaint be written to the company responsible for bus stop benches in the City requesting that they attend to their repair or replacement, as necessary, on a much accelerated schedule from that. existing at present.
