PoCo Kinsmen From the Port Coquitlam Kinsmen, March 17th, 1977 advising that we PARTICIPARK , DAY -Apr.1/77 Canada's First "PARTICIPARK" will be officially opened in Port Coquitlam on April lst, 1977 and requesting that April lst, 1977 be proclaimed "PARTICIPARK DAY". Moved by Alderman Ranger: Seconded by Alderman Laking: That as requested by the Port Coquitlam Kinsmen, March 17th, 1977, April lst, 1977 be proclaimed as "PARTICIPARK DAY" in Port Coquitlam and that the Mayor be authorized to issue a Proclamation to this effect. Carried. Prior to passage of the foregoing resolution, Alderman Traboulay commented on the personal invitation he had received to the opening of the Participark and suggested that it spoke well for the future of the Park. Alderman Ranger noted that over 900 Press Releases had been distributed to newspapers across Canada regarding the opening.
