pert Jubilee Gpen on June 18,

Rasengren finished one shot behind Squamish’s
Jetf Kraemer, and Kitinyat's Steven Venman. Krae-
mer wen! on to beat Venman on the first playoff hole

“The golf course was in great shape, [ just didn’t
play all that well [in the final round],” said Rosen-
gren, who shot ait opening round 69 and led by two
strokes. .

Rosengren will be playing the Skeena Valley
Men's Open slated to. begin an June 29-at Skeena
Valley Golfand Country Club.

Junior Open announced
THE SKEENA Valley Gall and Country Club is
gearing up for the 2000 Junior Open, set to take
place on July 17 and 18,

The tournament is open to youth aged 13 to 18, for
a $40 fee, which includes lunch and 18 holes on each
day. For the 10 ta 12 age bracket, there’s a $30 fee
for lunch and nine hales per day.

Adults are welcome to participate as walkers if
you're interested, contact the club at 635-2542,

Arm wrestler to lock
fists in Williams Lake

ONE OF Terrace’s own is heading to the 24th an-
nual B.C. Arm Wrestling Championships in Wil-
Hiams Lake this weekend.

Allan Heinricks, 42, will participate for the first
time in the championships.

Anyone who participates in the provincials quali-
fies for the Canadian Championships in Kelowna in
September. Over 300 participants are expeeted for
the Kelowna event.

Gymkhana rides into
Thornhill

THE TOTEM Saddle Club is hoping to see a recard
crowd-- weather permitting-- at their next Thornhill
Gymkhana Sunday July, 9. The events are held clase
to every three weeks at the Thornhill Agriculutural
Grounds.

Local swimmers shine
at provincial trials

THREE medal positions were captured by Terrace’s
squad of four swimmers at the Provincial Trials held
in Victoria June 16-18.

In the finals, Edmund Swan took home third
place in the boys 100 metre fly, and the 400 metre
IM. He nabbed first place in the 200 fly with a time
of 2:58:90.

Allison Knoedler captured third place in the girls
preliminary 100 metre breast stroke, with atime of
1:37:84,

The foursame arg off to the youth nationals in
Toronto, held July 14-17,
