SUBJECT: Reeve Street Soccer Field

RECOMMENDATION:

That we adda $8,000 to the Reeve Street construction budget.

_ BACKGROUND & COMMENTS:

The budget amount for Reeve Street Construction is $165,000.
Council authorized hiring a consultant ata cost of $10,000 which

brings the total to $175,000.

In the consultant's report there was a recommendation to utilize
"Dond Sand" for the site fill. However, this fill is highly sensi-
tive to moisture content and must be placed during favourable
weather. The purpose of utilizing Pond Sand for site fill was to
keep the cost down. At the pre-construction meeting with the
consultant it was decided that Pond Sand not be utilized and that
we go to a better grade of fill. The difference in cost to go to
the better grade of sand is $8,000. The major reason for the
request is that we have had an extremely wet spring.

Qur present time table for construction is to have the facility
available for play September, 1985; in order to accomplish this
time table it is necessary for us to do the construction in May

and June of this year.
