CT PLANNING Boas Option 1 involves the rerouting of buses to Lincoln, Westwood and to Lougheed Highway. This option does not require geometric modification of any existing and proposed roadways. However, this option is not acceptable to BC Transit due to the tremendous loss of service coverage, Option 2 involves the rerouting of buses to Pinetree, Lincoin, Woodland and Patricia. This will require the removal of concrete barriers and resurfacing at the Woodland and Lincoln intersection. | Optiou 3 would maintain the existing routing via the new Kitchener alignment. This option requires these modifications: southeast corner at Kitchener and Westwood; northeast corner at Woodland and Kitchener for bus-only access; and northwest corner of Woodland and Kitchener to accommodate the right turning buses. This option, however, imposes major traffic impact as the westbound queue at Westwood would block buses making the left turn at Woodland. The bus would in turn block the eastbound traffic on Westwood. 4, Recommendation We would request the following two options be considered: Redesigning of Westwood/Kitchener/Woodland alignment to accommodate bus turning movements; or Rerouting of buses to Lincoln, Woodland and to Patricia (Option 2). This option would involve the loss of service coverage along Westwood; however, it requires the least geometric modifications. : | : In addition, we would request that the construction not be started until this transit issue is resolved, 3 If you require more information, please call Jija Park at 264- 5000 (Local 5127): We appreciate your cooperations im this matter. — Yours truly, L- Wfansel Wang, P.
