ww COUNCIL . JAN 2 8 1974. ASSOCIATION CF Cove cnenn CUTIZENS ‘ e/o Yrs. Sherrill Gallickson 519 Leurier Ave., Port Coquitlam B.C. Mayor Campbell and Council, January 24, 2272 HieAllister AVG, Port Goquitiam 3.C, Near Mayor ‘and Council; For severul months now, parking along Cedar Drive hes been allowed by the city, ‘desoite requests to disallow it. This is an unnecessary, hazardous situation, especially when there exists ‘an adequate alternative to the probien, Mrs. Vera Harvey took it upon herself to ask council to put an end to the parking on Cedar Drive for the sake of the numerous children who-must enilanzer themselves repeatedly, to get to and from school. Council hes seen Fit, for some reason not to do anything constructive. Why must you wait until a chil. is mutilated or killed? The ACC feel thet NO PARKIVG signs would be quite justifiel as workmen who park on the road have be appr uached several ti:es for their vuch needed co-operation. It is obvious they do not intend to comply with Council's wishes. . The No Purkiny sins would disable no one and would most sertainly ense the minis of many parents and not to mention many chiliren! There is ample paved parking space provided in e@ such safer area, immediately off the road, for the undesirable parkers, . We feel this is a very reasonable request and await word as to what immeliate measures you will be taking, AS a point of curiosity are No Parking offences cousidered demerit noints? Sincerely hirs. S.L. Gullickson
