At stake was this year’s.
best Christmas lights display .

in two categories: best resi-
dence and best business. The
_ Mandate was to see the dis-
plays nominated and, if any
others struck their fancy, to
add them to the list.

The first entry in Copper .

Crescent, is the home of Al-
vina Pine. _

The panel found it to be

perhaps not a
‘Street featuring many lights.

Next stop Pat and Bud
Kirkaldy’s. Thornhill _resi-
dence at 3583 Alder Street.

Returning judges found
little variance from previous
years. but overall were quite
impressed with the Kirkaldy
display that features lights of
many colours and an imagi-
native, grid-like setting over
one of the front windows.

“So far that’s a 10,” ex-
‘claimed Liane Habermann.

Then it was off to Jack-
pine Flats.

“This better be worth
it out here,” said Langer,
tongue-in-cheek. Unani-
mously, it was.
