fl LU LLU & DRIVE ROUNDUP In Greater Vancouver. . . Grandview takes the lead First Honor Press Builder in the 1956 financial drive is John de Wever (second from left) shown above at the 1955 Pacific Tribune banquet with other leading press supporters Frank Politano, . Georgie Hewison, Bill Hreherchuk and Alex Kucher. Granpview press club, which has reach- ed the half-way mark in its effort to raise $650 for the Pacific Tribune’s financial drive, is setting the pace for all Greater Vancouver supporters of the paper. Grandview can also proudly report that one of its veteran members and press sup- porters, John deWever, is the first 1956 Honor Press Builder, having turned in $100 to date. ’ Grandview won the PT city shield for outstanding work in the financial campaigns in 1945, 1947, 1948, 1952, 1953 and 1955. Members are ‘making herculean efforts to win it again this year. The drive is now in its third week. Other press clubs can still ,overtake and pass Grandview, but they‘Il have to work hard to do it. Some clubs are lagging badly, as the figures show. It is obvious that members in these clubs have not yet made their personal donations, so necessary in order to achieve momentum in the drive. This should be looked after without delay.
