Re: Rest Area on the Lougheed Highway

The Leisure Activities Committee has discussed the attached
letter from the Port Coquitlam K-40 Club in which they wish to
look into the feasibility of developing a rest area on the Weat
end and between the two bridges spanning the Pitt River on the
Lougheed Highway. They would like to meet with the Department
of Highways tc see if such a project is feasible. They would
like this project to have the City Council sanction.

RECOMMENDATION

The Leisure Activities Committee recommends that
Council endorse the K-40 Club proposal to further
investigate the feasibility of providing a rest
area on the Lougheed Highway, and that they pursue
this matter with the Department of Highways.
