AND Install two RB-6 signs (Modified School Zone Speed Sign) on the existing "School Zone" signs located on Central Ave. on the west and eastbound approaches to Port Central School at a cost of “Attaohod-te a letter from Donna Greenstreet, Principal of Central Elementary School, requesting that a crosswalk be instailed on Central Ave at Donald St. The reason for this request is because Ms. Greenstrest feels that the intersection has become increasingly busy with both pedestrian and vehicular traffic. . There are no parking restrictions on Central Ave. on either side of the street. A crosswalk would aid in the safety of children crossing Central Ave. Parking restrictions would be imposed on either side of the crosswalk as per traffic safety standards, SOLUTIONS: Option 1 1) Install a standard crosswalk on Central Ave. on the east side of Donald St. to aliow students from Central Elementary School to cross Central Ave. 2) Paint the curb yellow on the school property side approx. 10 m from either side of the curb letdown. 3) Install two RA-3 "School Crosswalk" signs, one at the crosswalk on the westbound approach and one at the crosswalk on the eastbound approach. continued......
