RECOMMENDATION: That City Council permit the owners of the 13
: suite apartment building located at. Parcel 'B',
D.L. 289, Group 1, Plan 52606, NWLD, to subdivide

the property by Strata Title,

COMMENTS

This applicaticn has been submitted to renew a Previous approval
for subdividing 2240 Atkins by Strata Title. When the building was
being constructed, 1977, the owners applied and received permission
to Strata Title this property. The subdivision was not registered
however, a.: the owners felt the financing implications would be

unfavourable.

In the applicant's letter of explanation, they indicate their purpose
for requesting this Strata Title Subdivision is to assist in mortgaging
rather than sale of suites. While there is no assurance that suites
will not be sold at a later date, the owners are tied into a federal
assisted rental programme which protects the suites from being sold

for some time.

In summary, this request is to assist the owners in re-mortgaging the
apartment building. Due to that intention, support of this application

is being recommended.
