This property is located in the 1700 to 1800 Blocks between
Westminster Avenue and Imperial Avenue to the East of Oxford Street
and it is expected that approximately 32 residential lots will be
created following completion of the rezoning procedures.

The Planning Officer spoke to the proposal, pointing out that it

located directly North across Imperial Avenue from the proposed Townhouse

development considered earlier, and explaining the general layout of the
road system planned for the subdivision. Mr. L.R. Shearer, 1730 Westminster

Avenue, speaking as one of the owners of the undeveloped properties to the

East, stated his objection to the East-west road through the subdivision
being extended to that area, and the Planning Officer advised that this

road could end in a cul-de-sac if the situation warrants it.

No other persons were in attendance to speak to the foregoing proposed

Zoning By-law Amendment.

The Public Hearing adjourned at 8:42 p.m., and the regular Council

From the City Engineer, December 6th, 1976, reporting as requested
on the proposed Huntington Rubber industrial. development, and advising

that:

(a) The sanitary and storm sewers, road work, sidewalk, curbs and
boulevard were completed in July of this year;

(b) The several partners involved are having difficulty in arriving at
4 concensus in proceeding with development on the Easterly property;

(c) The recent death of a major owner is one of several factors that
apparently have contributed to the lack of activity by Huntington Rubber;

(d) Mr. Crogs of United Realty has indicated he wishes to approach the
City early in the New Year to discuss both properties,

Mayor Campbell advised that the report from the City Engineer was

for information only, and that the project would be reviewed early next

year with the Developers,
