MOTOR VERICLE ACT VIOLATIONS — 203 (RaDaR 93) CRIMINAL CODE (TRAFFIC) * PARICNG VIOLATIONS TRUCK BY-LAWS TOTAL 216 GENERAL COMMENTS ON LOCAL CRIMINAL AND DRUG ACTIVITIES: During the month of June, 22 persons were charged for various offences under the Rarcotic Control and Food and Drug Acts, The overall drug situation is still serious, but the increased enforcement is obviously having sone effect, and we intend to add One more member to the two currently engaged in drug work. Our efforts to keep the public as much informed as possible pertaining to drug matters through the mecia of talks and personal contact again seems to be paying dividends because we are enjoying excellent Co-operation from the public. , The month of June saw an increase in burglaries, but at the same time we were successful in getting approxinately 22 burglaries cleared on aduissions fron persons already in custody. These burglaries took place during the fall of 1972 2nd the early part of 1973. All involved the thefts of colcured T.V.'s and the persons committing these burglaries were on drugs at the tine. Recently, as a result of a joint investigation with Haney Detachment, We were successful in apprehending two People whom we believe have been involved in committing various other burglaries, There were three suspected arsons investigated. One of these involved a barn burned at Riverview by one of the patients. Two others involved a vehicle which we believe was deliberately set on fire, and a series of four fires set behind the Coquitlam Shopping Center. {J.B.S.)Sgt, i/e G.I.Ss.
