THE NEW-DEMOCRATIC PARTY SAYS:

No nuclear arms for Canadian forces.

If Canada becomes a satellite member of the nuclear club it
will lose its freedom to work with einer uncommitted nations for
nuclear disarmament. —

Nuclear-armed Bomarc missiles and nuclear-armed Voodoo jet
planes will not defend Canada against the modern intercontinental
missiles. There is no defence against nuclear extermination by these
missiles. The only defence is nuclear disarmament.

Any attempt to limit nuclear warfare by the use of limited-range
nuclear missiles makes military nonsense. One nuclear “tactical”
rocket explosion will immediately escalate into a full-scale exchange
of the nuclear deterrents and wipe out our civilization.

The billions spent on obsolete nuclear weapons would better-
serve the cause of world peace if spent on aid to poverty - stricken
peoples.

A vote for the New Democratic Party is a vote for a nuclear test
ban, nuclear disarmament, a conventionally-armed police force
under the United Nations — all steps promoting world action to
establish an enduring peace.
