RECOMMENDATION;

That as the City Clerk has been ordered to prepare a new register of electors based on the
Provincial Voters List; that the City Clerk now be authorized and directed to destroy all previous
voter registration cards registered at the 1990 municipal election.

Passage of the above noted resolution by the Council will permit the destruction of voter
registration cards used in the previous election. This action has been approved by our Solicitor
and since these cards do contain some information that most people think of as confidential -
birth dates, social insurance number etc. - it would seem wise to have them destreyed since they
no longer fulfill any useful purpose.
