Alderman Gates referred to the Proposed Commuter Rail project and a recent report that the Provincial Government was re-examining all capital projects and asked that a letter be- sent to the Provincial Government advising that the City of Port Coquitlam do not want Commuter Rail delayed. Moved by Alderman Gates: Seconded by Alderman Laking: That the City of Port Coquitlam advise the Provincial Government they do not want the Commuter Rail project delayed, and that the Federation of Canadian Municipalities, Mark Rose, M.P., Stu Leggatt, M.L.A., and to the Greater Vancouver Regional District be also so advised. Carried. Alderman Gates expressed concern regarding parking on the west side of Westwood Street. Moved by Alderman Gates: Seconded by Alderman Muldoon: That the District of Coquitlam be requested to eliminate parking on the west side of Westwood Street, north of the Lougheed Highway. Alderman Muldoon asked that a letter be sent to the Provincial Government advising that the City of Port Coquitlam do not want the Mary Hill Highway Bypass delayed. Moved by Alderman Muldoon: Seconded by Alderman Laking: That the City of Port Coquitlam advise the Provincial Government they do not want the Mary Hill Highway Bypass delayed, and that a copy be sent to Stu Leggett, M.L.A., and to the Greater Vancouver Regional District.
