Planning and Zoning Committee

RE: R#30/76, Proposed Industrial Development on Broadway

On October 20th, 1976, the Planning and Zoning Committee reviewed the attached
memorandum of the City Engineer regarding the position of the Public Works
Committee and the Industrial Development Committee on sanitary sewer and water
services to the above development.

The Planning and’ Zoning Committee does not concur with the Public Works and
Industrial Development Committees, and is of the opinion that:

1. It is necessary for the City to participate in the financing of essential
services in order to encourage industrial developments in the designated
industrial area. This cost can be recovered as developments occur
on the undeveloped properties.

The City hes set the precedent to finance services in the previous
industrial development on Broadway, and therefore should continue with

this Policy.
