May 14, 1973 Port Coquitlam Senior Citizen's Housing Society 2111 Hawthorne Avenue Port Coquitlam, B. C. Ci* Council Port Coquitlam City Hall McAllister Street Port Coquitlam, B. C. Dear Sirs: This letter is in reply to the past, present and continuing criticism of Mrs. Angus and her group of 14 local citizens, who state that they are interested in the “aged” in this community. Our Society has received no financial, vocal, physical .or any other’ support from Mrs. Angus and her group of 14 local citizens, who state that they are interested in the "aged" in this community. Since 1958 the Port Coquitlam Senior Citizen's Housing Society has developed, constructed, and is presently managing facilities for our Senior Citizens here in our own community. We have operated and have been active for 15 years. Through the active and positive efforts of our Society members. - our city council ~- provincial and federal governments, we have accomplished much. Our Society, our facilities, our administration and our records are all open to government scrutiny. We have made positive accomplishments through the positive efforts of our public spirited citizens, together with the co-operation of our city council and provincial and federal governments. We therefore take strong objection to individuals or any group who prefer to negatively criticize our accomplishments. These individuals or group, that state thelr concern and interast in the “aged" of our community, should conceive, develop, construct and manage their own facility for the "aged" that they seem so concerned about. We have had criticism on our wall paintings. We suggested to this art critic that we would be happy to accept replacements that would meet with his artistic approval. We are still waiting for the replacement paintings. We have had other similar criticisms without any positive response.
