COUNC Members of Council February 12th, 1976 FEB 1 6 {976 Mayor J.M. Campbell e Re: Regional Hospital & Regional District Meetings - February lith, 1976 I brought up my thoughts on the Vancouver General Hospital closing half of their rooms for one month in the summer in order to balance the budget. This is approximately 900 rooms and it seems ridiculous with our bed shortage and the fact that a hospital bed is worth in the neighbourhood of $60,000.00. We have asked the Board of the V.G.H. and Lions Gate to attend the next meecing te explain why they would even consider this move. The Coquitlam Hospital is now one of the top priorities and I believe will soon be funded and commence construction. Our Planning Meeting was mostly on Agricultural Reserves and bringing new members up-to-date. Today I was at a meeting on Transportation and they are going» across to Victoria next week to see this new Government's attitude towards our transportation problems.
