February 10th, 1975 facility would not be adequate for the proposed operation; however, Alderman Keryluk stated he did not think there would be any greater demand on the system than would be required for a one family situation. Alderman Laking stated his intention to vote against the motion on the basis of problems to be faced in the budget, and he also mentioned that as this is a health service, it should be operated by the P:ovincial Government. Alderman Traboulay stated he was totally in support of the motion, as in his view this is the sort of project in which municipalities have to become involved; however, he also expressed concern as to the adequacy of the sewage disposal System, and requested that this be reviewed by the Simon Fraser Health Unit before occupancy of the premises. City Eng. re From the City Engineer, February 7th, 1975, referring to a memorandum meeiload limit - truck route from the Sanior By-law Officer, December 17th, 1974, to the City Clerk, suggesting that the 10,000 g.v.w. limit be raised to 25,000 g.v.w., in view of numerous complaints from trucking firms on the present truck route limit of 10,000 lbs., and advising that the Public Works Committee is not prepared to recommend any changes at this time. Mayor Campbell stated he did not agree with the recommendation of the Committee, and that he felt the By~law is too restrictive as it affects the movement of inner traffic in the City; however, Alderman Ranger pointed out that there is a good truck route along Kingsway as well as an alternate route in and out of downtown Port Coquitlam. Alderman Laking stated his concern was for local trucks trying to get to the truck route, and Alderman Mabbett pointed out that it was most inconvenient for local truckers to have to travel some distance out of their way on the truck route to reach a nearby service station on Shaughnessy Street for refueling or repairs. Moved by Alderman Laking: Seconded oy Alderman Keryluk: That the "City of Port Coquitlam Traffic Regulation By-law, 1971, No. 1117" be amended by increasing the present weight limit of 10,000 pounds g.v.w. to 25,000 pounds &-v.w. on Elgin Avenue from Mary Hill Road to Shaughnessy and on Shaughnessy Street from Elgin Avenue to the Lougheed Highway.
