Alderman Ranger stated his view that the Public Works Committee missed the point of the proposal which was to close Tyner Street because of the heavy traffic and provide an alternate route down Mary Hill Road to the City Centre and other points. Alderman Meyer stated he supported the. recommendation as Tyner Street is the most direct route. from the Mary Hill area to the Port Recreation Centre. Alderman Thompson stated he agreed with the coments made by Alderman’ Ranger » but that he felt his proposal should also have included the installation of a traffic ight at the intersection af Mary Hill and Pitt River Roads.
