IN HER red serge uniform and stiff-
brimmed hat Constable Caitlin
Woods-Rotering was ready for duty.
But she might have to wait a few
years before being formally accepted
into the ranks of the RCMP. Her
parents insist that she at least finish
grade three.

Caitlin was the winner of Kiti
K’Shan’s Mountie for a Day contest.
Students throughout the school wrote
little essays on why they thought it
might be interesting to be a police of-
ficer.

Constable Kim Hall said it was dif-
ficult to choose a winner. However,
Caitlin’s enthusiasm seemed to set her

watch car crashes and fires and not do
anything. They help us to feel safe
walking in our community. They are
always someone we cau trust and
depend on because they are the Royal
Canadian Mounted Police!"’

Caitlin spent the day on duty with
the RCMP. She toured the detachment
and had her photo taken with In-
spector Leach.

She also patrolled the streets of Ter-
race, am experience she described as

But the best part of the day was
lunch at White Spot, where she was
the guest of honour. Fire chief Randy
Smith, Inspector Leach and Cst. Hull
joined her there.

As for Caitlin’s career plans, she
said she ‘‘definitely”? wants to be-
come a mountie when she grows up.

with Caitlin for the day, temporarily
becoming the biggest student ever to
altend Kili K’Shan.
