REPORTS:

Mr. Chad White and Mr. Gordon Ray of the Fraser Valley Regional Library answered
questions of Council regarding the 1994 Budget.

From the City Treasurer/Deputy Administrator, October 21st, 1993 regarding the Fraser
Valley Regional Library 1994 Budget.

That the proposed Fraser Valley Regional Library 1994 Budget NOT be approved; and
further that the Fraser Valley Regional Library Board consider the following changes to their
proposed budget:

That the $47,152 included in their budget for opening library branches on long weekend
Saturdays be deleted.

That the $100,000 allocated to start funding the Matsqui collection be reduced to $50,000.

That the incremental funding for Community Relations and Human Resources be reduced
from $71,700 to $40,000 with the Executive Director to pick the priority items for inclusion.

That any increased Provincial funding be directed towards the collection development.
