THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM | | _ : November 14th, 1980 | | NOV 17 1989 | REPORT TO: . Mayor and Council FROM: Parks & Recreation Committee jl, Lacrosse Season & Bantam Tournament A meeting was held between the Parks & Recreation Committee and representatives from the Lacrosse Association and Minor Hockey. The Lacrosse Association, after discussion, conceded to the Bantam Tournament running its usual period of time in 1981. The Minor Hockey Association offered to give the Lacrosse Association 10% of the profit from Bantam Tournament, but’ this was refused. Their stipulation was that if Bantam Tournament runs as requested by Minor Hockey in 1981, the ice be taken out on March 3lst each year thereafter. If this is approved Minor Hockey would then investi- gate the possibility of holding the Bantam Tournament at Christmas. The only problem foreseen with this is the Ringette Tournament which is being held for the first time this year at Christmas. The Committee would like to make the following recommendation: Recommendation: That Minor Hockey be permitted to hold the Bantam Tournament, as requested, in 1981 and that the ice be removed from both arenas on March 3list of each year thereafter. ; 2. Hot Water Heater stored in Robert Hope Old Concession It has been requested by Minor Soccer that the hot water tank be removed from the old concession, which is used for storage. This would provide additional storage space which is now required due to the larger number of participants registered in soccer. Recommendation: That the hot water heater be removed from the old concession located at Robert Hope Pool and that Bram Hoogendoorn arrange to have this stored at the City Yards. Respectfully submitted, Rw Darfene Cross, Acting Recreation Director. DC/bh
