ATTACHMENT 1 DEFINITIONS 1. Group Home Residential facilities which provide group living arrangements for persons with physical, mental, emotional or related disabilities and/or problems, that provides food and/or lodging and that is developed for the personal rehabilitation of its residents through self-help and/or professional care, guidance, and supervision. Facilities can accommodate either children or adults. Licensed Facility Those group homes which require a Community Care Facility Licence and have three or more residents. Unlicensed Facility Those group homes which do not require a Community Care Facility Licence. Physically Disabled Persons whose primary disability is physical (and who may also have other disabilities, such as mental) and-may require assistance and/or care to meet their daily needs. Mentally Disabled Persons with mental disabilities who may require assistance and/or care to meet their daily needs. Persons with Mental filness Persons with impairments of their cognitive, affective or relational abilities who may require some assistance and/or care to meet their daily needs. Protection/Behaviour Probleres Fersons (primarily chiidren and young adults) that are no longer living in their primary residence and/or with their principle companion or caregiver. Examples of individuals that would require this type of facility include those who have been apprehended by the Ministry of Social Services, have run away from home due to a breakdown in the family situation, have displayed behaviourial problems in their primary residence necessitating their removal, or have been abused or neglected in their homes.
