Shimizu Sawmill
Dike Improvements

RECOMMENDATION:

That the attached letter of understanding of work to be done by Shimizu
Sawmill and the City of Port Coquitlam for landscaping and pedestrian
walkway improvements along the Pj River dike be approved.

COMMENTS :

Part of the Shimizu Sawmill rezoning application review is how they intend to
accommodate pedestrian traffic along the Pitt River Dike. A series of
improvements have been identified by City staff and the applicant's architects.

The firm is requesting approval of these improvements. This approval is being
requested to permit them to move top soil onto the side of the dike right of
way. The top soil is from site clearing and preloading for the sawmill.
