That as recommended in a report from the Planning & Zoning Committee,
September 15th, 1977, Application R#12-77 to amend Land Use Contract No.

18 to allow the extension of McDonald's parking lot to include Lot 315,
District Lot 466, Plan 51224, be approved. Lo Tabled.

Prior to consideration of the foregoing proposed resolution, a
discussion ensued, and in reply to a query from Alderman Thompson concerning
construction of a berm along the easterly side of the parking lot, the
City Planning Officer advised that because of a 4' drop in grade, it was
agreed instead to install a wooden fence with treed landscaping. Alderman

Ranger stated his concern at the parking lot intruding into the adjacent

residential area, and he referred to a former proposal to construct
another commercial building which would act as a buffer between the
restaurant and the residential area; however, Alderman Traboulay pointed
out that such a development would also require parking facilities.
Alderman Thompson suggested that as the application appears to be of

a controversial nature, it should be deferred until the next meeting
when all members of Council would be in attendance, and he proposed the
following motion:
