CALEDONIA golfers are
going to the provincial
championships again. And this
time they earned the berth.

Last year Cal backed into the
provincials when Kitimat, the
northwest zone winners, were
unable to get a team together
for the championships.

But it was all Cai at the °95
Mike
Vandermuellen — he fired a
pair of 77s in the 36-hole
event for overall low score —
Terrace cruised to a 27 stroke
victory.

Cai’s Tyler Gibson finished
second in the low score stand-
ings, opening with an 82 then
improving three strokes in the
final round.

David Venman (162) and
Adam Zaharko (167), both
from Kitimat, took individual
third and fourth overall.

The Cal quintet of
Vandermuellen, Gibson, Craig
Lewis, Scott Long and Terry
Smith tallied 671 to easily
defeat Kitimat’s Mount
Elizabeth squad with Smithers
and Houston further back,

Noting it was the first time
Terrace had won the zone title,
coach Clayton Lioyd-Jones
said, ‘*We’re hoping for a top-
10 finish.’’

clinched the title than it got
bad news: Gibson had
