| inior girls compete in 9-team tourney | Junior girls’ high school basketball teams from Ketchikan, Skeena and Smithers came out as win- Ners at the. nine-team. Skeena tournament held on the Jan. 17 weekend, Ketchikan won. their three-team ‘A’ section by downing Prince Rupert’s Booth 48-25 in the final. The three-team ‘B’ divi- sion went to Skeena witha 41-24 win over Quesnel in the final. Smithers won the three-team' ‘C‘ side with a 44-31 victory over Aiyansh. Sixteen games were played overall, using both Skeena and Thornhill jun- for high school gyms. Scores of all games lead- ing up to the finals can be found in this week’s scoreboard.
