Furure Development

When Western Dr. is completed to Confederation Dr. in 1994, there will be sidewalk on both
sides of ine road. At that time items such as the crosswalk, Stop sign and playground sign should
be installed.

Reasons for Approvals and Denials
crosswalks - The boundary for children attending Hazel Trembath School is Eastem Dr.

Therefore. all children attending the school will be corning from south and west of the school.
There is no need for crosswalks at the intersection of Eastern and Western Drs. because:

-traffic volumes co not warrant it,
-pedestrian volumes do not warrant it and,
-traffic accidents do not warrant it.

playground signs - These signs are warranted since Skyline Park is adjacent to the school.
Playground signs cover the time from dawn til dusk 7 day/wk. which will include school times.

walkways - The walkway will generate pedestrian movements towards the school and a safe
marked crossing when future development occurs in the area.
