H 1 : f | 4 | { i January 3ist, 1977 A regular meeting of the Municipal Council of The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam was held in the Council Chamber, Port Coquitlam City Hall, 2272 McAllister Avenue, Port Coquitlam, B.C., on January 31st, 1977, at 7:30 p.m. His Worship Mayor J.M. Campbell, Aldermen J.J. Keryluk, G.R. Laking, E.W. Mabbett, P.F. Ranger, M.A. Thompson, and L.M. Traboulay in attendance. Also in attendance were Chief Administrative Officer L.D. Pollock, City Clerk R.A. Freeman, City Engineer V.G. Borch, P. Eng., Planning Officer Lanson Lee, Assistant City Engineer L. Melnechenko, P. Eng., and Mrs. E.M. Aalten. Zoning Public | ZONING PUBLIC HEARING: Hearing His Worship Mayor J.M. Campbell advised the meeting a proposed new new Zoning By-law #1498 Zoning By-law for the City of Port Coquitlam, entitled "City of Port Coquitlam Zoning By~law, 1977, No. 1498", would now be considered, and that the said proposed By-law No. 1498, which will repeal the "City of Port Coquitlam Zoning By-law, 1969, No. 918" and all By-laws 2f the City of Port Coquitlam passed in amendment to the said By-law No. 918, will contain the following provisions in substitution for those contained in the By-laws to be so repealed: (a) dividing the municipality into zones; (b) regulating the use of land, buildings, and structures within such zones3 (c) regulating the size, shape, and siting of buildings and structures within such zones; (d) regulating certain other matters such as may be lawfully regulated in a é-1ing By-law. The provisions of the proposed Zoning By-law will affect all land, buildings, and structures, located within the corporate limits of the City of Port Coquitlam. The City Clerk advised of a letter dated January 3ist, 1977 that had been received from Mr. A.R. Barnes, 1455 Victoria Drive, objecting to the One-Family Residential zoning under which his property will be included, as development of an adjacent subdivision has caused considerable devaluation thereto, and stating that because of the restricted use it would not be possible for him to explore means to recoup this losa. The City Clerk further advised that Mr. Barnes intended to be present this evening to speak in support of his letter.
