/6. February 7th, 1977 :Ald.Mabbett re From Alderman E.W. Mabbett, February 2nd, 1977, inquiring as to the “removal of pigeons- 13537 St.Anne present status on Mr. J.A. De Vries being in violation of By-law regulations ‘Street (J.A. De Vries) : by keeping pigeons on his property at 3537 St. Anne Street. Alderman Keryluk advised of a letter from the Senior By-law Officer dated January 3ist, 1977, that was sent to Mr. De Vries, with copies circulated to Council, informing Mr. De Vries he was required to remove all pigeons from his property within 21 days; however, Alderman Stated he had not received a i i copy of that letter. i ‘Leisure Activities From the Leisure Activities Committee, February 3rd, 1977, submitting :Comm.-Neighbourhood | | Park Study a revised Neighbourhood Park Study for consideration. Alderman Ranger then spoke to the Yeport and recommendations contained therein. Moved by Alderman Thompson: Seconded by Alderman Keryluk: That the 6 recommendations set forth under Item I on Page 2 of the February 3rd, 1977 report of the Leisure Activities Committee on the Neighbourhood Park Study, be approved. Carried. Moved by Alderman Thompson: Seconded by Alderman Laking: That recommendations 1 to 3, inclusive, set forth under Item II on Page 3 of the February 3rd, 1977 report of the Leisure Activities Committee on the Neighbourhood Park Study, be approved. Carried. A discussion ensued with respect to Recommendation No. 4 on Page 3, calling for the development of a softball diamond, major soccer field, and double tennis courts at the Nu- West Development park site, and Aldermen Laking and Traboulay expressed the view that this should be developed as a passive, rather than an active, facility. Moved by Alderman Ranger: Seconded by Alderman Kerlyuk: That Recommendation No. 4 set forth under Item II on Page 3 -of the February 3rd, 1977 report of the Leisure Activities Committee on the Neighbourhood Park Study, be approved. Carried. Aldermen Laking and Traboulay voted against the resolution. A discussion ensued with respect to Recommendation No. 6 on Page 3, calling for the construction of 2 double sets of tennis courts in Area "G" this year, and concern was expressed as to the location therefore.
